Effective noon July 23, all open burning including campfires and beach fires, will be prohibited within the District of Metchosin

This is in response to the Provincial Parks Ban scheduled for this same date.

This ban applies to open fires of any size, campfires, beach fires, fireworks, and tiki torches.

The ban does not apply to cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes, or to portable campfire apparatus with a CSA or ULC rating using briquettes, liquid or gaseous fuel, that are not capable of producing a flame longer than 15 centimetres. Portable campfire apparatus that do not meet these conditions are prohibited.

Road Paving:
Drivers should expect delays, or take another route

Week of July 26th
Re-paving on Happy Valley Road from 4300 block to the intersection of Metchosin Road

Week of August 2nd
Re-paving on Rocky Point Road from Matheson Lake Park Road to Aquarius Road
