B.C. is experiencing Level 5 drought conditions. Here in Metchosin, the water levels in our creeks are critically low. As a result, the District is asking residents to not draw water from creeks where feasible. At the same time, the District recognizes the ongoing bona fide use of water licenses.
Drought conditions are expected to continue well into the fall. We are concerned for the health of the fish and other animals and plants that depend on these creeks.
In Metchosin, we all live in one or another watershed. These watersheds give us life. We must act to preserve and protect them.
