The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is reportedly tracking the spread of a virus, Adenovirus Hemorrhagic Disease (AHD) affecting deer on Vancouver Island and are asking the public to notify them if they think a deer is showing signs of this virus. Symptoms are: signs of difficulty breathing, drooling, foaming at the mouth, dark diarrhea. As well, should a resident find a deer on their property, deceased with no obvious cause, residents may also contact the Ministry with this information.
